The visiting Chargers shot over 50% from the field in both halves and hit 21-of-24 free throw attempts to hold off a resilient Greyhounds squad.

The Lakers remained perfect on the year and extended their home court winning streak to 37 straight in their home building.

Canary recorded 21 points and 10 rebounds as UIndy upped its record to 8-0 with a convincing 89-50 win against Grace College at Nicoson Hall, part of the UIndy Thanksgiving Classic. Junior Abby Winebrenner (pictured) recorded a career high by scoring eight of the 40 bench points from the UIndy subs on the night.

Men's tennis, women's tennis each sign three

<img src="http://athletics.uindy.edu/images/2008/4/3/rp_primary_tennis.jpg" /><br /><br />INDIANAPOLIS- Greyhound Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach John Venter announced the signing of six student-athletes to continue their athletic careers and education at the University of Indianapolis, beginning in the fall of 2009. The group includes three females and three males, all of whom have signed National Letters of Intent during the early signing period.

The Hounds have already played #1 Findlay and undefeated Hillsdale, another solid region team, before this week&amp;rsquo;s showdown at nationally-ranked Grand Valley State. The preseason pollsters have the Lakers ranked anywhere from 8 (Sporting News) to 11 (Preseason Coaches Poll) to 23 (Division II Bulletin). UIndy then returns home, but faces Northern Kentucky, who checks in at No. 5 in the most-recent NABC Coaches Poll.
